Crossroads South Africa Youth Ministry
youth_9.jpgAcross South Africa today there’s a cry raising from all quarters of society to radically impact the lives of our young people.  Young lives are being shattered through drug addiction and substance abuse. Teenage pregnancies are rising rapidly as young people look for love, affection, and acceptance in all the wrong places. Many young people are migrating to a life of crime and violence as the means to support themselves. All of this is contributing to an ever increasing downwards spiral of morality within the Youth of South Africa.

Our monthly Crossroads Youth Gathering hosted African Enterprises’ Foxfire Youth Team which brought a message of reformation and hope to the 70 young people who gathered that evening.  The Foxfire Youth Team uses song, dance and drama to proclaim this message of reformation and hope in a world of chaos.  Young people were challenged to live lives characterized by integrity and purity in a culture which promotes the mindset that “I want it and I want it now!”  At the end of the message almost half of the young people present came forward weeping and seeking the Lord of forgiveness and restoration.

youth_6.jpgAs we prayed with these young people I couldn’t help but weep not only for the wasted years of their lives but for the thousands of young people who are outside the faith trapped by a culture of greed, lust, and individualism.

In the minds of many of South Africa’s young people God is some aloof mystical person who is to be accessed when they are much older, married, or in trouble.  The idea that God can see them where they are at and that he wants to have an ongoing relationship with them is something that most of them have never thought of.

As you think of it I ask for your help by praying for God’s Spirit to sweep over the Youth of my nation, to lead them to repentance and restoration in Christ.

Thank you for your help in reaching the Youth of South Africa.
