What We Do Humanitarian Aid Over 200 million children in India and 11.9 million children in South Africa live in extreme poverty. Begging, stealing, working as bonded child laborers, and childhood prostitution becomes the only means of survival. There is no doubting God's heart for the poor! He identified with the poor, becoming one of them -- Jesus Christ was born into poverty, was rasied in the slums among the poor, and showed great compassion for those caught in the grip of poverty. He not only felt compassion but demonstrated what loves does -- it takes action, it does something. Jesus healed the sick, comforted the wounded, and fed the hungry. Following the example of Christ Crossroads is working to alleviate poverty through a number of ongoing Humanitarian Aid initiatives combining renewed hope together with meaningful change in the lives of children and their families struggling under the burden of extreme poverty. Our passion is both to communicate the "Good News" of the gospel and to express the compassion of Christ for people of all races, all cultures. We do this by addressing the "felt needs" the poor have, such as food and clothing, while addressing their spiritual need of salvation. You have the power to alleviate hunger and poverty. For a few dollars a month you make a difference in the life of a child who has neither your resources nor opportunities for a better life. Your financial gift puts food in the mouth of a hungry child, groceries in the hands of a mother struggling to feed her family, it provides medicines that alleviate the suffering of the sick, and hope to a downtrodden grandmother without the means to fend for herself. Your gift does more than provide a handout, it offers hope and change. "Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, 'Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,' but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it?" James 2:14 – 15 << Back to What We Do
